A group of film artists get together for some brainstorming in order to come up with an idea for the short film competition "Caffè Corto Moak." They're running out of time, and their nerves are in tatters.

Coffee, in its broadest sense, is the topic of the Caffè Corto Moak, the international short film competition, now in its eighth year, promoted by Caffè Moak.

Fellini gives us his personal views on tempo libero, (free-time). Whatever you do, don't show up if you have an appuntamento (appointment) with him!

Back in the days when people traveled on horseback, Al Biondo Tevere was a convenient rest stop just outside the walls of the city. People would feed and water their horses, and trade what was in their bundles of food with their fellow travelers. Later, it became a proper restaurant and many famous people became regulars, including filmmakers, Pasolini and Bertolucci. Signora Giuseppina shares the story.

Lara decides to question the medical examiner Ginevra, the last person to have seen the victim alive. Manara had a different idea about how to handle his witness.

Sardi wants to comfort Toscani after he'd been punched in the face by the bass drum player. Manara wonders where people go in the evening, and Lara, after seeing the Commissioner in a car talking to Ginevra, goes home and confides in her Aunt about why she can't stand him.

"Starvation gastronomy " describes the humble origins of Italian cuisine. Inventing recipes based on whatever was available in the territory resulted in regional dishes that have become famous today.

The rehearsal for Lorenzo's funeral gets interrupted by Manara and Toscani who want to question Scudieri, the bass drum player. Meanwhile, Lara is trying not to explode with anger about Manara's handling of Ginevra Rosmini.

Naples was chosen for the Earth Day Italy celebration. The choice had special meaning in light of the problems Naples has had in the past regarding waste management.
