Imma goes to where the dead body of Nunzio Festa had been found. She has to deal with the local Carabinieri marshal, who is a bit of a bully. She and Calogiuri go to see the parents of the deceased.

We begin a new episode, where Valentina is at school, learning about politics and toxic waste.

Domenico Modugno goes to New York City, where he sees his song has taken over. It made history all over the world.

Imma is back in the office and so is her talkative assistant, Diana. Imma's boss comes in with some papers. Who knows? Now that summer is almost over, maybe Imma will find some time to relax.

The winner of Sanremo is announced, and the news travels fast. The winning song makes Italians feel optimistic after the terrible war and postwar periods.

Romaniello opens up to Imma and shows his true colors. Imma takes her mom home, but the apartment seems unfamiliar to her with its modern conveniences like a TV, and running water.

The big night arrives and we, along with so many watching him on black and white TV, finally hear the song in Modugno's performance at Sanremo. It was a moment of great pride and optimism for Italy.
