The DA wants results and is impatient. Berardi gives her some good reasons not to be so pessimistic. Torre and Ferrari show up with some fresh reports, and of course, Camilla shows up to tell Berardi about what Viola said.

Elena finally gets to visit Luigi in the hospital and they talk about the situation. She brings him a little video made by Anita, their daughter.

It's the first day of school after the summer vacation and Manzi is getting his class together. There are some new kids and they aren't all made to feel welcome by the class. In Italy, in elementary school, at least at that time, it was customary for kids to have the same teacher every year.

At the funeral for Nic Bianco, his daughter Allegra breaks down and seeks out her professor for comfort. Allegra's best friend Viola didn't come to the funeral, and Camilla goes to see her to find out why.

The nurse is pretty mad at Amed and she says some things. Luigi makes the consideration that it's the nurses who keep the hospital going.

Some years have passed since the first episode, and Alberto and Ida's family has grown. Alberto's friend Eugenio shows up one day with a very important gift for the family. Everyone is thrilled except for Alberto. Back at the university, where Alberto had accepted a job, his superior is interrupted in the library by someone looking for Professor Manzi.

Renzo is in a good mood as he arrives home from his day and he decides to deliver the roses left for his mother-in-law in person. Camilla is arriving at the apartment with the eggs she needs to make crepes.

Even with all the activity swirling around, with the visitors, fellow patients, and doctors, Luigi feels very alone with his symptoms and his thoughts, just like anyone else who has undergone surgery.

Torre and Berardi found some useful information at Nic Bianco's villa. At home, Camilla is cooking but is missing an ingredient and goes to see her mother.

Doctor Zamagna tells Luigi what he did during surgery, but although it went well, Luigi doesn't feel so great.

Alberto is doing the right thing, but it's not easy. He goes to the reformatory for a last meeting with the director. This is the finale of the first of two episodes in this mini-series.

Gaetano is not one hundred percent convinced of Camilla's version of how the murder occurred. Renzo goes to a Merengue lesson but gets a surprise while dancing with Pamela, the instructor.

The hospital personnel have a special relationship with the elevator. There is a new female walking the corridors and nobody fails to notice her. Doctor Zamagna goes to see Luigi.

Alberto Manzi gets his degree after his oral exam defending his dissertation, but now he has some tough decisions to make about his future.

Allegra talks to Camilla about her relationship with her mother and why she is so upset. Back at headquarters, there is some news reported by Torre. As usual, he tries to use an expression and gets it wrong. The actual expression is qui gatta ci cova, meaning literally, "The cat is sitting on something, covering it up." In other words, something is going on that we don't know about.
