Ricotta follows his teacher's advice and goes with Felice to a garage where they are hiring. They immediately see why it's important to know how to read and write. At school, Alberto does an experiment with his students and tries to get everyone involved.

In 1906 Vesuvius erupted, its worst eruption of the entire 20th century. Torre del Greco, a town near Vesuvius, was particularly affected. Buildings collapsed, sick people were trapped inside the hospitals, and Giuseppe and Giorgio rushed there to help out.

Torre and Berardi go to see Nic Bianco's wife and obtain some new information about Cappellini. Camilla and Renzo go running and Camilla tries to get him to get some strange ideas out of his head.

Pisanelli goes to see Friar Leonardo and remarks how peaceful it is there in the cloister. Lojacono and Aragona go to see the head of Forensics and learn some new details about the evidence.

Luigi wants his tube removed in the worst way. Only Zamagna can answer his questions.

Manzi, with Felice's help, eventually finds Ricotta and goes to see him. At school, Manzi makes waves with the director again. This time it regards little Giulia.

Giorgio goes to see Cloe perform again, while Giuseppe takes Elena to a place that isn't easy to reach. The two friends are clearly in love.

The DA wants results and is impatient. Berardi gives her some good reasons not to be so pessimistic. Torre and Ferrari show up with some fresh reports, and of course, Camilla shows up to tell Berardi about what Viola said.

After work, Aragona and Lojacono walk towards their respective homes together. Aragona says he is home, but is he? Pisanello goes home and makes tea, all the while telling someone (probably his wife?)about his day. Lojacono goes home and gets a phonecall from a certain Sonia...

Elena finally gets to visit Luigi in the hospital and they talk about the situation. She brings him a little video made by Anita, their daughter.

It's the first day of school after the summer vacation and Manzi is getting his class together. There are some new kids and they aren't all made to feel welcome by the class. In Italy, in elementary school, at least at that time, it was customary for kids to have the same teacher every year.

Moscati continues to disobey the rules of the hospital. Nobody can deny, however, that he is having some success with his methods.

At the funeral for Nic Bianco, his daughter Allegra breaks down and seeks out her professor for comfort. Allegra's best friend Viola didn't come to the funeral, and Camilla goes to see her to find out why.

Alex goes to see Nunzia by herself, to see if she can help her, but she gets an unexpected reaction from the girl.

The nurse is pretty mad at Amed and she says some things. Luigi makes the consideration that it's the nurses who keep the hospital going.
