How good of a painter was the victim? Not all the people who knew him have the same opinion. Luca and Toscani go to see the picture framer and learn a few things.

Both the victim's wife and his lover are questioned at the same time, one by Luca, and one by Marta. Each has a very different memory of what Fello was like.

The autopsy report comes, and Manara goes to talk to the victim's widow. Marta goes to talk to his lover. Marta gets a phone call, and her colleagues realize, with surprise, who her father is.

The investigation begins. Manara and Rivera go to see the victim's wife, while Toscani calls a tow truck. Then all hell breaks loose in a house nearby, where there's been a gas leak.

At police headquarters, everyone is thinking about what they will do when they get off work, but then there is a phone call that changes everyone's plans. A fall onto the rocks by the beach, a book with an intriguing design, and we're off to a new episode with Luca Manara.

Interrogating the wife of one's boss might be cause for some nervousness, but Manara seems to enjoy it. And Luca also has some news, which slips out very casually.

Manara makes an important and unexpected announcement to his colleagues, but gets interrupted by some disturbing news about the town psychic.

Manara and his team are still looking for the hit-and-run driver who killed the tramp, and investigating the vineyard owner's disappearance. Lara gives Manara a clue as to why she's still angry with him.
