At the hospital, Francesca wakes up to see Gaetano by her side. Is he there as a brother or as a cop? She explains what happened the night of the murder.

Pietro's mother shows up at his house and doesn't hide how she feels about her daughter-in-law. On the way to see Nunzio's parents, Imma and Calogiuri discuss the bank records they were able to obtain.

Soon after the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers in New York City, where Oriana happens to be living, she breaks her self-imposed silence and writes an article for the Milanese newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Camilla is in front of the hospital and gets a call on Francesca's phone. At least Camilla has the sense to warn Renzo she'll be a bit late. Renzo sees his mother-in-law outside with someone who doesn't look a bit like poor Sandra.

Imma is in the courtroom trying to get Saverio (from the previous episode) indicted. Later, she meets up with Calogiuri at the office, but there is someone else waiting for her.

Lisa finally feels comfortable leaving Oriana at the hospital and goes back to the house to watch some interviews with the journalist.

Camilla finds Francesca in very bad shape and calls an ambulance. Meanwhile, Berardi interviews Lenox's secretary and hears about Paul's ex-girlfriend.

Imma goes to see her friend Pino at the museum to ask him about the fragments she saw at the reunion. She then goes to the cemetery with her mother.

Despite huge obstacles, Oriana finally manages to interview Ayatollah Khomeini. The controversial encounter contributed to making Oriana Fallaci worldwide famous.

Under pressure from Renzo, Camilla tries calling Francesca one last time, and this time, she answers. They arrange a meeting so Bibì can go back to her owner.

Imma is not exactly enjoying herself at the party, but she does notice something interesting, and possibly pertinent to her case. She encounters the deskmate who replaced Diana way back then.

Oriana tells Lisa about finishing her book, Un uomo (a man), and promoting it, especially in non-democratic countries. She travels to Iran in 1979 to interview the new leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, and to talk to someone who wants to translate her book.

Berardi isn't able to be honest with his boss about what leads to follow on the case. The jeweler shows up at the police station wanting his valuable pieces back. There's a little incident with Bibì at school. Berardi goes to see a guy he knows, who might be able to find out something about the jewelry.

Imma comes home. Pietro is practicing his sax. Valentina shows up in a rage. Then Imma is reminded of the class reunion dinner... the last thing she wanted to do.

Alekos figures out how to obtain some important evidence against the government, and discusses things with Oriana on the way to the airport, where she'll take a flight back to Italy.
