This episode begins with a flashback to when Luigi first notices blood in his urine. At the hospital, the priest is getting ready for his operation.

Mr. Bedon asks the pupils for the dates of historical events but the only one who knows the answers is Giulia. Bedon thinks he can treat his pupils as he likes, but not everyone sits by quietly.

Moscati can't find Aniello in the hospital and discovers he had run off. Moscati goes out looking for him.

Berardi and De Santis discuss the case. At school, Viola is not feeling well at all and Camilla sees to her. Back at police headquarters, Ferrari has searched the driver's car and found something.

The pressure is on Palma, and consequently on his team, to solve the murder alla svelta (quickly), but they haven't gotten very far. They are still in alto mare (a long way away).

Not surprisingly, Manzi gets suspended and Bedon takes over, making the kids memorize a poem by Giosuè Carducci from 1872. Ricotta has a bad moment at the garage where he works.

Giorgio goes to see Cloe perform, but afterwards, he makes an important decision. Giuseppe finally finds Aniello, who is not doing well at all.

Berardi and the DA are about to have a passionate evening together, but they are interrupted by a phone call from Torre and they have to leave right away.

Lojacono has a conversation with Iolanda Russo and learns some new details. Later he has a meeting with his superiors.

The principal called on an inspector to evaluate how well Manzi's class is prepared. He is not very kind.

Both Giuseppe and Giorgio take the exam for the available position. They each have to diagnose a patient and the examination board isn't kind to either of them.

Renzo is wondering if meeting up with Inspector Berardi at the restaurant was a coincidence or not, since it wasn't the first time. But they end up exchanging lines of a famous song by Massimo Ranieri, Perdere l'amore (losing love). The next day, the focus is on Livietta and her dance class.

We get a glimpse of Francesco's home life in this segment. He has a lot of pent-up anger and doesn't have it very well under control. Lojacono and Aragona are following Miss Russo and have a little conversation about patience.
