Luca questions Lupo, and figures out how to find out for sure who murdered Gabriele, but as usual, he's immune to warnings about how dangerous it will be.

There's some girl talk between Lara and Sardi, Luca is not a great dinner guest, and Buttafuoco and Barbagallo make an interesting discovery.

Luca's charm works like a charm and he's able to obtain the information he needs from the woman in the motorcycle shop.

Luca confides in Toscani who is, however, not very encouraging on the subject of marriage. Lara calls with some information, and Luca goes back to question Lupo.

Rubino and Sardi go to question Elena, Gabriele's ex-girlfriend, while Manara questions Elena's current boyfriend.

Lara and Luca have been skirting the marriage issue, but they do finally talk about it, albeit briefly. Meanwhile, they get some new information about the case.

The documentary comes to a close with an interview regarding a prison cell used during the Inquisition. The cell bears the graffiti of its inmates. Pitrè had laboriously uncovered the graffiti, but it was only rediscovered in the 1970s by the writer Leonardo Sciascia and the interviewee in this segment, Giuseppe Quatriglio, who used Pitrè's writing to find it.

Toscani, Lara, and Luca are working on the case, but Toscani is clearly distracted. Luca tries to get some information from Gabriele's rival.

Ada provides Luca with some welcome company, food, and gossip. Ginevra communicates the cause of death, while Luca and Lara toss around a couple of different possible hypotheses surrounding the motorcyclist.

A Palermo doctor discusses the Integration of immigrants in Sicily and highlights the successes in healthcare. Medical assistance is provided for all immigrants, whether lawful or not.

Luca and Lara are doing the best they can to work on the case despite their inner turmoil. Luca's sister wants to help him, but there's a limit to what she can do.

Lara and Luca go into work mode automatically, to try and solve this new, upsetting case, but they each have private, unhappy thoughts that keep turning around.

A Palermo doctor is interviewed about his practice and the African and Southeast Asian immigrant patients that he treats.

By popular request, Manara is back with some new adventures. Everything is in place for a joyous celebration, with wedding bells, but is it too good to be true?

Palermo faces the sea and has a very long history of immigration. The narrator interviews a young woman whose great grandfather came to Sicily from Sudan. She is involved in educating immigrants from Africa and Asia. Pitrè was also highly involved in education.

Giuseppe Pitrè loved attending performances of chivalric folk plays in Palermo. This segment follows a marionette player at Palermo's Opera dei Pupi, the same theater where Pitrè went to see folk epics.

A beach party concludes this episode, and season. Love is in the air!

Emotions are running high in this segment and we're hoping that Lara gets found, and that she's alive.

A woman performs a traditional Sicilian ritual involving the sticking of pins into an onion, accompanied by prayers, in order to bring back the boyfriend of her suppliant.

The tension is almost unbearable for everyone. But when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

We get a taste of what life is like at police headquarters without Luca. We also see that Lara learned some bad habits from Luca, going off on her own on a hunch.

Giuseppe Pitrè received his degree in medicine in 1865. His patients, among Palermo's poorest, provided him with a wealth of ethnographic material.

It's time for Luca to say goodbye to his colleagues and friends. It's a sad moment for everyone.
