Rosario chooses to avoid the encounter with his mother, so he makes up an excuse and returns to class. Meanwhile, in the lesson, Marioni puts Sara to the test, but she is determined not to give up.

Matteo and his classmates, during the break, get together to cheer for Sara in the hope that she manages to convince Marioni to let her play with them. Rosario, on the other hand, is agitated and this doesn't escape either the boys or his teacher.

In class, Barbara proves to be much further ahead than her classmates in the curriculum; for this reason the teacher decides to assign double the homework to all students. Meanwhile, Sara continues her battle, trying to convince Marioni to give her the chance to play.

Irene becomes furious with Luca when she discovers that he is obsessively following and controlling Marco, while she takes refuge in a fictitious identity to distract herself from her own thoughts. Meanwhile, Barbara arrives at the new school and Sara makes a request with a determined tone.

Barbara and her mother appear decidedly more serene, and the girl seems ready to start over. Meanwhile, at Rosario's house, his parents try to reassure him in anticipation of the meeting with his mother.

Finally Max manages to get Alice into the Bistrot where the surprise party had been organized. After the party, Max meets Michelino who explains who the lawyer is and what happened to the cake.

In her rush to leave her father's friend's apartment, Joy forgets to take the cake for Alice's party. While trying to figure out what to do with Stefano, Alice's parents arrive.

Stefano and Joy prepare the cake for Alice while Max makes sure that Joy has had some ideas to invite both of the birthday girl's parents. When Max takes Alice to the amusement park, she notices something strange.

With the lights dimmed, the conservatory orchestra gives a moving performance of Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759, known as the Unfinished Symphony. As they play, Marioni listens, and his emotions take him back in time to relive his daughter's bicycle accident and aftermath.

Marioni introduces an unusual concert, in which he gives up conducting the orchestra to accommodate a visually impaired musician. The orchestra is arranged among the audience, and the musicians will perform without visual references, relying exclusively on their ears.

Marioni has an intimate moment with Irene and lets her know how important she is to him, whispering the lyrics to "Senza fine" by Gino Paoli. At the conservatory, the orchestra is ready to go onstage for the concert, where, presumably, everyone will play from memory. Matteo's uncle and friend are in the audience, but Nathan hasn't invited anyone. Sara is nervous.

Irene is not so sure Marioni's car crash was really an accident, and the two talk frankly. Meanwhile, Robbo's sister Chiara has an asthma attack, and Robbo calls their father.

Barbara avoids a meeting to take refuge in music, while the rest of the group confronts insecurities. A breathing crisis of little Chiara brings past fears back to light, but also the strength of mutual support. Meanwhile, among colleagues, the organization of an innovative concert takes shape.

Matteo gets home and walks in on his uncle and Daniele, the neighbor. After Daniele leaves, Matteo talks to his uncle about his personal problems, wondering why he is behaving so badly.

Rosario claims he no longer worries about the consequences of his actions, because he will have to leave Milan anyway. Meanwhile, Domenico and Matteo clash harshly, calling their friendship into question amid accusations and betrayals. Sara is forced to confront a difficult reality, understanding that she must grow up quickly and put her emotional strength to the test.
