Camilla can't help herself and goes to the home of Mattioli's former nurse. Gaetano leaves Camilla a text message. Note that in Italy, texting while driving is now prohibited.

Imma goes to join Calogiuri in the area of Matera where homes and churches were built into the rock. There are i sassi (cave houses carved out of the rocks) and the lamioni, barrel-vaulted rooms leading to the cave houses. She is guided by Eustacchio, a kid she thinks should be in school. Camilla is still convinced there is a mouse in the house and Renzo humors her. At school, there is some tension, but Marchesi has some information for Camilla and her mood changes. Berardi also obtains, almost by accident, some intriguing information, that could be pertinent to the case.

Valentina has begun studying again, and talks to Bea after class. There is a cloud over Imma's office, as she and Calogiuri talk about the case.

Marinella is shocked to hear on the news that a father might have killed his own children and she calls her father for some reassurance. The team goes to the funeral of Grazia and Biagio, in order to observe the behaviors of the various suspects and witnesses.

The detective's mother is not able to provide any useful information to the police. Renzo finds a small object near the front entrance of their apartment building. He also gets a postcard from New York, causing not a little stress to Camilla.

Imma is troubled, both by seeing Calogiuri again and finding a new dead body. She looks around the apartment and goes to see the seamstress who had found the body.

At the police station the team discusses the case and then they disperse. Lojacono sets up a date with Laura, Palma goes to his new place, Pisanelli goes to spy on his friend the monk, and Ottavia is working late at home.

Camilla can't rest until she has reported her suspicions to Berardi, and goes down to the police station before school.

Calogiuri has become a marshal. At Imma's house, the morning is going fairly normally, when a phone call from Diana comes. It can't be good.

At police headquarters, Guida is settling in to work on his puzzles, but someone with a familiar face walks in.

Camilla ventures up to Doctor Mattioli's office to see if the nurse is there and to ask him about hallucinations. At the police station, Piccolo is making an effort to make Ferrari like him.
